Jan Reichert
CEO, Gaming Expert & Author
Jan Reichert is the founder and CEO of kr3m. media GmbH, a leading HTML5 games studio in the DACH region. Since 1999, he has been working with major German and international publishers, and more than 25 years of collaboration with premium partners have given him a unique inside view of the games industry: How do games work that excite millions of players every day? What makes classics like Sudoku, Solitaire or Mahjong feel truly timeless?
With a degree in economics, Jan combines a business-driven mindset with a deep passion for playful formats. As a gamification expert, lecturer at the Games Academy in Berlin and board-level games representative at CyberForum e.V., he explores both the cultural and economic impact of games. His articles blend solid industry know-how with pop culture phenomena – from the story of Snake on Nokia phones to today’s AI-powered game formats.
Jan’s perspective is strongly shaped by Enshin Karate (6th Dan), which he has been teaching for more than 20 years. The discipline and strategic thinking of martial arts influence his approach to writing: It is about balance, fairness and respect for the player.
Jan writes about games because he believes the industry deserves more depth. Gaming is not just entertainment, it is culture – and those stories deserve to be told. His pieces are aimed at players, industry professionals and anyone who wants to understand why millions of people solve a Sudoku or play a quick round of Snake every single day.
